Have you ever seen anything like it?
Kris Moyes new anti-pop video for Sia
It isn’t often you see a truly unique video, and a musician who doesn’t mind lending her face to her art.
Kris Moyes new anti-pop video for Sia from her upcoming album is a jarring combination of pop music and artistic fetish.
Sia has in her musical persona a childlike quality, apparent in her website (which looks as if somebody has vomited a box of crayons onto the computer screen) and Kris Moyes has captured this well in Buttons.
You wouldn’t necessarily imagine this pop-like song would lend itself to such an approach but it works – the contorted faces of Sia add both a fun and slightly disturbing feel to the mix. You never quite know what to make of it.
Since 2005 Moyes has been instrumental in sculpting the cool, hipster visual aesthetic for international record label Modular Recordings and manages to change his style to suit each project. Two more of Moyes music videos to look out for are Architecture in Helsinki and Wolfmother.
As funny as it is disturbing theres one thing certain about this video – love it or hate it, you wont go forgetting about it in a hurry!
